“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31

Glaciers, rivers, and oceans. Deserts, forests, and grasslands. Mushrooms, moose, stars, and moons. What awesome gifts the Creator has given!

Sadly, humankind hasn’t done a great job of caring for these gifts. Plastic litters the oceans and can be found in nearly every living thing. Rainforests are cleared at an alarming rate to raise livestock. We burn fossil fuels like there is no tomorrow, polluting the skies and changing Earth’s climate. We fill Earth’s orbit with satellites and space junk as we pursue faster communications and worlds beyond ours. And now, the rise of artificial intelligence consumes immense amounts of power while guzzling water to keep the computers cool.

God calls us to be better stewards of these gifts, including the wonderful gift of the people around us. Regardless of your faith, I invite you on a journey of caring and stewardship, both individually and within your home, place of worship, community, or beyond. There is no right answer, and sometimes we’ll make mistakes. But, together, we’ll engage, empower, embolden, and encourage one another to make a difference.
